Print January’s bank and credit card statements and pay stubs.

Collecting statements can be a time-consuming task, whether you just gather them from where you have them tossed filed or whether you have to download the statements your banks and other entities have online.  So for the next few days, we are doing relatively easy  and quick tasks so that some of you can catch up.

Today, you should print (or gather, if you get paper copies) your January statements.  All of our credit cards except one close on the last or first day of the month, but for that one, I print a transaction history that starts on the first day of the month and ends on the last day of the month.  My goal is to know everything I spent–even if I charged it–within each month.

Also print your pay stubs for the month of January.

Set these aside.  We’ll do more with them tomorrow and in the coming days.

Time required:  About 30 minutes, but we currently have three different banking accounts and a few credit cards.
